Service Programme
and Activities of Light Net

All of our service programmes are tailored for mature persons (not in terms of age). They are no longer made on the premise of what an organization can do to you or what benefits you can get from an organization or a group but rather on how you can help or share. Spiritually mature persons are always looking for avenues or opportunities to express what is inside – to let their Soul use the physical vehicle as an instrument for contributing to the Plan for humanity. Stated in different words- in the purely Christian context- Christians or Spiritual persons are on the lookout for opportunities to use the "gifts of the Spirit" as well as express the "fruits" to glorify the Lord.

What, then, do we get for "working" or sharing the "fruits of the Spirit" in a group setting? Honestly, nothing! Nothing for yourself. It is just the Joy and Beauty of working in unison with a group of people sharing the same visions and goals, in the spirit of cooperation and love. However, on the practical side, it is obvious that group work is more effective due to the pooling and effective utilization of resources. Discrimination and Intuition or the "gift of Discernment" is a useful guide as to which group you should work or affiliate with.

Service Programmes of Light Net:

Centerpiece Service Programmes

Light Net envisions to help in planetary spiritual regeneration by initiating the following activities nationwide, with the active involvement of the youth and the intelligent men and women of goodwill in the country and throughout the world.

(The 3 major programmes are currently in varying stages of commencement. We need more selfless volunteers for programme no.2. In all of our service activities, we ensure the most effective use of time for the volunteers. We always assume that our volunteers are also busy trying to make a living that any gesture of kindness and intent to share some of their precious time, are met with gratitude and immediate arrangements to ensure that the volunteered service activitiy will fit into their schedules with the least possible disruption to their normal schedules and routine.)

  1. Collective use of thought

If the predominant national and global thoughtform or “mental climate” is that of selfishness, materialism or greed, no significant results can be achieved no matter how we work hard for a cause physically or socially. Men and women of goodwill have the power, through the united and scientific use of thought, to clear the “mental climate” and affect world events. Knowledge of this fact can be one of the great liberating facfors within humanity.

  • Formation of light networks

    (Light Net's Basic service activity)

A light network is composed of 3 persons working together as a triangle unit to invoke and release divine energies at an agreed common time everyday. These units are linked to the other network formed by all others engaged in this world service. This type of service is basic to all who wishes to serve and affiliate with LIght Net. It is suited to fit even the busiest schedule as you only need around 5 minutes each day. Central to Light Networking is the use of the Great Invocation. But alternatively, devout Catholics, for instance, can instead use the Prayer to the Divine Mercy if temperament leans to the devotional side.

Volunteers are not required to attend meetings if very busy at work or at home. After signing up, we will send to your address the materials and instruction needed to start this work.

  • Mobilization of active goodwill

This work helps in building powerful thoughtforms for solutions to humanities various problems through online activism and advocacy, forums and help in moulding public opinion to bring about proactive positive changes in society.

Currently the medium to accomplish this is through the Light Net Newsletter and other publications, as well as the Virtual Center.

  1. Proactive Holistic Earthcare

Together with the “mental work”, collective actions are needed to facilitate the grounding of the energies and put it to work to really solve the various human problems at the roots. A Holistic or “wholistic” approach should be taken in this area.

Most environmental protection programs are based on the models of highly developed countries that only focus on the physical environment and wildlife. However a holistic Earthcare approach or model is more suited to less developed countries, which comprise the majority of Earth’s population. It takes into account not only the physical environment and wildlife, but more important the human life that inhabits the planet. It is based on the concept of men as stewards of the earth’s resources. Therefore to achieve a healthy environment and genuine peace, human development that is based on social equity is necessary through selfless cooperation of peoples.

  • Transfer of technologies & practical skills to underdeveloped communities

The continuing worldwide commercialization and the advent of the knowledge-based and information society will further widen the gap between rich and poor countries and peoples, according to the latest study of the United Nations Development Program. Few will have access to technology and education and thus further underdevelopment will ensue. Light Net is forming a pool of volunteer men and women of goodwill who have some skills or expertise and have more time to share their know-hows and extend them to underdeveloped comminities in the Philippines.

We do believe that any person must have some unique skills or talent that can be shared to others, no matter what his status in life is.

What we have in mind are:

Practical skills and livelihood techolologies: Such as but not limited to know-how in information technologies, mechanics, plumbing, electicity and electronics, farming, entrepreneurial skills, business and finance, cosmetics and hair science, engineering, organic fetilizers, food processing, carpentry, and many others

.

Skills and know-hows in humanities and creativity: Such as but not limited to music appreciation, musical intruments, painting, cartooning, drawing, arts appreciation, knowledge in history, culture and humanities, teaching methods, talent in story telling, proficiency in english grammar and composition, teaching children how to read, understand and speak english and tagalog, science education, laws, argumentation and logical thinking and many more.

We believe this skills and information pertaining to culture and humanities should also be transferred to underpriviledge communities, and not just livelihood technologies. This is an area why many similar groups failed. To our mind, you cannot just teach people to learn technologies to get a job... you must give them an alternative world view or paradigm for them to appreciate the world we live in and to widen their mental perspective and see the bigger picture of things. Knowledge of humanities, not just direct proselytizing on morals and religion, will restore values and the character ethic.

  • Environmental Protection

Light Net does not discount the beneficial effects of direct involvement in physical environmental issues, especially those that threaten the people’s lives and healths. It will help in information campaigns and directly cooperate with national and international groups working along these lines.

  • Problems of Humanity Lecture Series

The Problems of Humanity course is intended to help men and women of goodwill to gain a deeper understanding of world problems so as to enable them to contribute more effectively in world service. The course is based upon the book, Problems of Humanity, by Alice A. Bailey, and is composed of three main elements: 1. Materials for reading and study, 2. Guidelines for a reflective meditation, 3. some questions for consideration and discussion. The Study group will meet and discuss once or twice a month and will study up to seven modules of study provided by the World Goodwill in New York. Some topics are Psychological renewal of nations, Children, Youth and Education, Capital, Labor and Employment, Racial Minorities, World Reilgions, etc..

You can choose whether to attend the online study group here at the Virtual Center using Mailing list service and IRC chat, or the land-live persons study group to be held at Wack-wack, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila. Make sure to finish the studies where you have registered. The two venues are moderated by different persons and therefore the style and tenor of discussions can vary.

  • Science of Meditation Workshop for Beginners (for now, Land venue only)

The Science of Meditation workshop for beginners is intended to help men and women of goodwill to practice meditation without the superstition and exaggerated mystical ballyhoo associated with it. It is a tool to make one a more effective world server evoking spontaneity and the "inside-out" model to service, avoiding pitfalls along the path such as ego-tripping, "holier-than-thou" attitude, and other delusions. It also clarifies many misconceptions regarding meditation such as the need for a teacher and bearded characters, initiation, diet, kundalini, psychic 'powes', alpha waves, etc.. Most of all, the workshop is no-nonsense and practical and gets you started after the 1 day session. It will help you meditate correctly while maintaining your mental health and sanity.
